THE ACTON FAMILY'S BLOOMFIELD LIGHT RAILWAY |
Thanks to the efforts of Ian Shields (IS) and Matt Acton (MA) we have this record of the Acton's 2007 Open Day...........
......... which was another rainy one.............(IS) ........... but "Gazebo City" was erected to keep the guests dry, except that...............(IS) "Oh look, everybody - there's a hole in the roof!" (IS) Fortunately, it did stop raining eventually........ (IS) .......... but everybody was in good spirits, except for............. (IS) ........... John Skipper - "I've been sat here for HOURS and haven't had ONE bloody bite!" (MA) "Me train keeps on falling off in really awkward places, too!" (IS) ........... but he is really quite a cheerful person............ (IS) ......... and his Darj Garratt did look a picture..........(IS) .......... on his freight train.(IS) The river has been converted into a canal, with a lock...........(IS) ......... and a narrowboat. (IS) I haven't worked out how Ian manages to get shots of his own train in motion......... (IS) Andrew Latham's Millie performed impeccably, as always.(IS) The "natives" didn't seem to be bothered by the weather - note the pile of (genuine) scrap! (IS) A WLLR "Earl" produced delightful steam effects............ (IS) Though it shut off past the level crossing, to avoid scaring the sheep................ (IS) ......... but went well through the station............. (MA) ....... and through areas not normally visible......... (MA) ............... but accessible if it's your line and you know where to put the camera! (MA) A Regner geared loco also performed well.............. (MA) ....... and the MDLR's "Havelock Vetinari" ran a freight, past the line's very own guard dog (not!). (MA) A lovely lineside view of Havelock. (MA) |
