THE ACTON FAMILY'S SHERWOD OAKS LIGHT RAILWAY: |
The final garden railway meet for 2014 was rather unusual, in that it was held the day after the clocks went back and it started at 3 in the afternoon - rather later than usuaI. This was done quite deliberately so we could see all the lights on the layout (and there were a LOT) and run locos and trains with lights. I've done the best I can with the pictures - apologies if they're not up to the usual standard. The lights went on early - some of them are visible in this shot. Dan brought his Hackworth-valve-gear fitted Bertie with a rake of Bredgar & Wormshill coaches, seen here at the bottom of the spiral................. .......... and here at the top. As the light started to fade, more and more lights showed up............... ................... around the church, which was floodlit with kitchen unit LED lights............... ............ and in the village with more normal bulbs My own Baldric XT disgaced itself by not fitting through the tunnel, but a happpier solution was to use my Jack, with the Friog providing one of the late services, almost all of which were Diesel hauled. |
