16mm Association - 2005 AGM & Convention |
When I arrived at 0930, Young Nipper had already got the setting up done............ ....... and the hall looked strangely empty.......... People were still setting up, of course......... ................... and I got the chance to see Roundhouse's new loco, "Carrie" in the metal. The member 2 member sales team were getting busy..........
........whilst other people were still unpacking.............. ............. including the Binnie Family, here seen with Pascal and his wife. Janet & Mick Mobley had set up the previous night! It was nice to see Tony Sant back, after an absence of years. The clothing stand fitted out Hon Editor (but NOT in FB Size!) You don't often get to see a Brandbright stand THIS quiet! "Suits you, Sir......" and NO, we DON'T do inside legs! Tony Bird gets measured for his new fleece. By now, it was a little busier.............. .......... so I went to do some judging. This model of Baguley 3001 won because he'd only bought the wheels, gears and motor. .......... whilst this model of Crecceith Castle used a proprietary chassis. The Bob the Builder train scored 20/20 for accuracy - you can't argue with THAT! Outside, the buzz (or charra if you prefer) was taking its lunch break............ Tony Bird built this circus train............... .......... and perhaps Mr Binnie might want to take note of the last vehicle! Sean's Yak trundled around Timpdon................ .......... but the BIG crowds gathered around Rowlands Lodge when the coal-fired locos came out! Somebody's had a good day............... The seating provided to watch the trains go by was appreciated by many. The next generation? .......... in force.............. "Daddy, why does the LGB make so much NOISE??" It was nice, but would look so much better with catenary I did like the digging dog, though............. .......... though he seemed to be totally underwhelmed by it! |
