A VIEW OF THE LINE

When Andrew Mitchell closed and sold his Westfield Light Railway (you know, the one that's been to many exhibitions) he resolved to build a new, outdoor railway. This is the result. Set in a fairly small back garden in Long Eaton, its construction has involved a lot of clearance in a garden that had been established for over 30 years to make space for the line - thus it is a little "raw".

You can't be mistaken about the name of the line..............

The tracks from the steamup area..........

.............. runs over a "viaduct", the arches of which are occupied by names from Andrew's past.............

........... down to a junction where the two lines split............

........... to join the main circuit, which is dumb bell shaped.

At the moment, there is one main station with useful sidings, as they are accessible from both sides of the circuit.

There's a loop at the far end..............

........ but don't venture down here (yet)!
