BOB NEWTON'S LINE AT RAINWORTH |
Our host demonstrates his lifting bridge........... ........... built out of scrap............ ........... and with a double crossover in the middle of it! Nigel Town's big coal-fired loco was too big to go around.............. ......... and Derek's B - I - G Climax was restricted to the upper level........... ........... where it proceeded to demolish signals and other lineside fittings normally well out of the reach of trains! Nigel had rather more success with his newly-acquired Quarry Hunslet.......... ............. which ran around beautifully at scale speed............ ........... with Nigel "topping up" on the move. There was always an appreciative audience.......... ........... which meant that youngsters had to really concentrate on driving! More onlookers............ . A Roundhouse "Russell" descends the newly-completed spiral to the lower level........... Serious conversation in the steamimg-up area........... .............. which at the moment sits on legs over the drive. Track laying here was only completed this morning! ......... and in the Ladies Corner. Once past the steaming-up area the main line runs along a wall as the drive drops away.......... ......... with the lower level running below it. Nick Kirby's Motor Mule ran BEAUTIFULLY slowly - TOO slowly for some! "Oh look! There's somebody taking pictures!" A rather dusty Criccieth Castle on a freight. A good view of the spiral. Criccieth Castle again. Ian Shields watches the MDLR's "HAVELOCK VETINARI" on a freight. "RUSSELL" hauled a prototypical coach. A study in concentration as a passenger train leaves the station............(Ian Shields) Ian's "Argyll" looks well with the C&R's distinctive coal wagons, now nicely weathered with real coal dust!(Ian Shields) It's often been said that we in 16mm have a screw loose - here we are looking for it! ............ and here it is! |
