DAN NEWTON'S DINORWIC LIGHT RAILWAY

Dan (like many of us) has a sign...........

............... and had provided a small layout under the gazebo to run battery electrics (and this radio controlled tram) on

When you arrive, the first thing you notice is The Bridge........

............from where trains go up one side of the lawn..........

.......... across the top and through The Cutting..........

.......... and down throgh Dinorwic station.............

......... and goods yard............

.......... and loco shed area.

Having disappeared behind the bushes, the track re-emerges..................

........ to go around the balloon loop and back up to The Bridge

It was nice to see some Meccano in use (even if it IS the wrong colour - it should be green & red!)

One interesting feature is the Houdini Hoist across the station.

When the travelling carriage hits the stop, the hook descends.

Apparently these were used in some of the open, deep quarries..........

............ and it's all controlled by the winch (in this case, Dan's Dad!)
