IAN SHIELDS'S 2010 OPEN DAY

There was a good crowd at Ian's this year............

.......... with the ladies taking up residence well away from the trains!

Our host, on Domestic Duty

The youngsters invaded..............

Daniel loading munitions........

Terry Pearce has produced this Hudsonesque tractor with the batteries in the van - a future Model of the Month?

Furious activity in the steaming bay.............

The MDLR's contribution was a diesel hauled mineral train - the WD "D" Class wagon at the head had been built that morning!

Daniel's WWI train.

Nick Kirby had brought a pair of County Donegal railcars (built to 15mm scale) which he built many years ago. This is No 7............

.......... and here it is resting with No 4, which was originally built on the chassis of a Ford 1 ton truck.

The Latham childrens' train crept out when it went quiet..........

Nick Kirby also brought his Big Big Ruston - a real Blast from the Past, this!

Roger Coleman went for a van train, hauled by his Roundhouse "Dylan".

When it rained, the ladies didn't go in............ (the men stayed under the gazebo)

Nick's third train featured wagons built from stripwood for less than a fiver each!

One of the two Finescale "Betty"s on show.

The Wheldon Wagon put in an appearance...........

.......... behind John Pearson's Roundhouse Hunslet...........

........... before taking up residence in a quiet corner of the steaming bay.

Matt Acton's VW Railcar bursts (sorry, crawls out of) the tunnel.
