LLANFAIR GARDEN RAILWAY SHOW 2004

The first layout that cought my eye was this 009 one...............

............built on an ironing board and reminding me of why I now model in 16mm scale!

The 7/8" scale lads were here...............

.. with an MOD layout, complete with squaddies..........

........ a Simplex and target trolley..............

...... and a beautifully detailed engine...........

... for the digger.

Needless to say, the layout had a "naughty bit", only viewable through a mirror, hence the less-than-perfect quality of this picture!

Lady Sybil had been lined out................

. and was soon put to work on Rowlands Lodge..........

...... hauling a rake of their stock - it was too far to trek back to the car park for mine!

On the layout next door, it was possible to see thoroughly dirty LGB stock...........

........... something I heartily approve of!

There was, of course, a lot of straight-out-of-the-box LGB............

This line up of locos must have cost a VERY pretty penny!

After that, off down to the station for the Real Thing............

....... and then to Raven Square for more of the same..........

..... with the train about to depart............................

..........fired by a lady............

..........setting off gently............

..........but soon laying down the obligatory clag!

It was nice to get a good look at the Heritage goods stock......

..........but sadly the new coach eluded me.

The last time I saw this loco, it was unrestored in Llanfair Yard! The wreath was for a working member who'd died suddenly on the previous Thursday - this loco was to have been his turn today.
