THE NEWDIGATE LIGHT RAILWAY - ELSECAR |
Michael Thacker's line is (like his house) fairly newly built on a site which slopes in two directions. This shot, contributed by Mike, shows one slope.............
........ and this shows the other.
A LOT of earth moving was required!
From the steaming-up bay, the branch line joins the main line at a triangular junction ............
The main line then runs past the raised lawn and into a tunnel.......
........ the top of which is cunningly made from decking board.............
...... before bursting out into what will be the main station area.
Selwyn demonstrates that he can drive a train and take its picture at the same time!
The station area's a bit bare at present...................
The steaming up area is just at the right height
Selwyn brought his Lady Anne............
.
Dave Billiard brought a fairly ancient Roundhose Fowler.............
............ and a short rake of passenger stock..........
..... and late on in the day, the line's owner ran a W&L frieght.

I thought we had it bad for recycling, but this lot takes the biscuit! |
