'Twas the Day before Stoneleigh..........
9th April 2010

........... brought to you by John Orson and Andy Cooper, who do the bulk of the pre-Show organisation.

It's one helluva big hall............

............... particularly when it's only got the refreshment area and an artic full of tables and chairs in it.............

The first layout to go up was Dixon Green...........

..........ably assembled by Association Treasurer Phil Thompson.

Power sockets magically appeared out of the floor..............

"Is it designed to keep the punters OUT, or the Member 2 Member sales team IN??"

The Table team (Bob Newton, Ian Shields & Andy Cooper) setting out with much reference to The Master Plan...........

.......... and ensuring they were all immaculately lined up!

Meanwhile, at the front entrance the Stoneleigh team were adding the finishing touches to the outside.............

........... whilst inside Help & Advice were ready to rumble!

"Edward Sholto hasn't shown up yet - can we get away with this one if it doesn't??"

Willam and Marguerite Bickers-Jones adding the screening to the M2M Sales Area.

The first train of the Show was this railcar on Dixon Green.

Edward Sholto's transport arrives, to sighs of relief all round!

It only JUST went in the door!

First view of the star of the Show...........

"Do we start with THIS bit??"

By this time, some of the traders were getting on well with setting up.................

"We only built this bit last night - it's the first time it's been up!"

The G Scale Society getting started.

In the meantime, the unloading ramp was getting built...............

....... and the loco was getting pushed uphill towards the back of the lorry.

After rather more heaving and straining, he was finally on his little panel of track..........

.

Almost immediately, Margaret Neale (knew who it was - personalised overall) leapt into action cleaning and polishing..........

............ even before the ramp was dismantled!

.

Nant Mawr in kit form..........

Still lots of cars unloading............

............ and lots of bare tables for MOTY entries.

Jack Lane ready for Hunslets.........

............ as was Port Able!

"Right folks - everybody out - come back in the Morning!"

The rest you all know about, because you see it, but I hope you've appreciated this little look behind the scenes................
