The Westfield Light Railway occasionally ventures out onto the exhibition circuit........... ........... where the sidings get to be fully occupied (in this case by the MDLR's lightweight battery electrics (and Toby).......... ........... and you get to see the lineside houses rather better. There's even a Blue Plaque on one of them! Westfield station has an overall roof............. ............. with some nice detail under it. The people on the platform look decidedly Welsh, though! (and notice the bench - that's the give away) Struan station also has some interesting figures........... ........... some interesting topiary......... ............ and the inevtiable gricer! ......... Struan shed sits on the corner of the layout....... ........... and is well detailed inside. The goods shed has looked like this for as long as I've known it! Evening meetings at Long Eaton invariably start with a meal of some sort........ .......... and some of the buildings need putting out............. .............. before we get stuck into the serious business of the evening - in this instance, a Finescale GVT loco making its first run since overhaul. Ian Shield's "ARGYLL" looks rather splendid with a short rake of Andel Models colliery hutch carriers. Bob Newton's "Russell" runs through an area which has been totally remodelled since this picture was taken, so you can access either track without reversing over that crossover. Another shot of "Russell" - the black walls of the factory pose an interesting problem for the photographer. The MDLR's "Lady Sybil" with a mixed train. It's nice to see a wagon getting used for a REAL job! Bob also ran his "Jane".......... The MDLR's "Magrat" on the PW train. The video...................... |
